2023: 17 Youth organizations throw weights behind Mrs Egbo

As the 2023 general election in Nigeria draws closer, seventeen non-partisan youth organizations from different communities in Enugu North/South Federal Constituency under the auspices of National Youth Associations of Nkanuland (NYAN), have pledged their support for Hon Mrs Juliet Egbo, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency.

Chairman of the NYAN, Comrade Okwudiri Nwobodo-Edeh who gave the endorsement on Thursday, February 16, an interactive session, said the choice of Mrs Egbo ticket would help to rescue and rebuild constituency from the challenges being faced by the constituents, due to under- representation over the years.

He said youth organizations in the State have played significant roles in youth mobilization, youth engagements, sensitization and political participation in the Enugu State.

He reminded the youths that the election would be decided by votes from the youth population and urged them to make good use of the opportunity by voting Mrs. Egbo during February 25 House of Representatives elections in order to secure the future of the youths of the Constituency.

According to him, “it is gratifying to note that Mrs. Juliet Egbo right from the beginning of her campaign maintained focused and consistently promised Human Capital and Infrastructural Development of Enugu South and Enugu North Federal Constituency.

“Her campaign manifesto gives great attention to youth’s development, promising to deploy huge resources to address the challenges. If elected, we believe she will achieve tremendous success and the testimonies will come from the grassroots which she promised to represent.

“Without mincing words, Mrs. Juliet Egbo, has touched lives, particularly the youths have benefited from the various skill training and empowerment programmes she funded and organized.

“My fellow Comrades and Youth leaders across the State, the time to demonstrate our commitment to safeguarding the future of the youths in our State is now. We as youth leaders must not fail in assisting visionary leaders like Mrs. Juliet Egbo to actualize this future dreams for Enugu State and the nation at large.

“If all of us should work together as a team and be committed to this course, Mrs. Juliet Egbo will emerge as the next member of the House of Representatives for Enugu South/Enugu North Federal Constituency.

Responding, Hon Mrs. Juliet Egbo thanked the youths for the solidarity and cordial relationship.”

Firstly, I would like to extend a note of appreciation to the organizers of this event. It means a whole lot to me and the people of Enugu South/Enugu North Federal Constituency who I want to represent,” she said.

She thanked the various youth organizations for their consistent support and collaboration, assuring that she will continue to partner with them and other relevant bodies to better the lots of the society.

She said that a vote for her would ensure that Enugu South/Enugu North Federal Constituency has better representation at the national assembly and urged the youths to come our en-masse and cast their votes for her.

“I am committed to providing opportunity for young people to ensure they are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but also change agents today.

“You are the voices at the forefront advocating for Enugu State to advanced and improved; energetic in spirit with the ability to improve the future of humanity.

“As young people, you see a world of endless possibility. You are essential asset worth investing in. You have waited almost endlessly for leaders that will provide you with the right platform. That is why I am running, to foster community resilience, innovative solutions, drive social progress, enable youth empowerment and inspire political change.

“I share your concerns regarding the non-effective representation of Enugu South/Enugu North Federal Constituency .

“I shall work with the youth to provide information and offer ideas that will potentially strengthen them.

“If elected, for the first time in our political history, I will sponsor Youth Delegates to High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development of the United Nations,” Mrs. Egbo said.

Adding, “As is my core belief, the young people can transform the planet as actors in politics. This is why I want to go to the National Assembly to establish pathways to tackle the many specific issues facing the youth in our various communities.”
