Abuja, NIGERIA – In recognition of his commitment to youth empowerment, Chief Uchenna Okafor, the Director General of the Asaba Taskforce and Monitoring of the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association (COMTOA), Delta State, has been honoured with Award of Excellence by the Arewa Youth Consultative Council (AYCC).

The AYCC, a prominent organization dedicated to the interests of Northern Nigerian youth, lauded Okafor for his exceptional leadership and unwavering support to Keke operators in Asaba. Under his guidance, initiatives aimed at providing training, resources, and a supportive environment have flourished, ensuring that Keke operators can thrive in the competitive transport sector.

Presenting the award to Okafor at Musa Ya’Adua Centre Abuja on Saturday, the National President of AYCC, Ambassador Zaid Ayuba Alhaji, commended him for his impactful work. “Your commitment to advocating for the rights and opportunities of young Keke operators has not gone unnoticed,” Alhaji stated, adding, “You have tirelessly worked to ensure they have the necessary tools to succeed, fostering a sense of belonging and economic sustainability.”

Okafor’s efforts have also focused on promoting safety and unity among the Keke operators, emphasizing their essential role in the transportation landscape of Delta State. His initiatives not only instilled a sense of pride and purpose for Keke operators, but have motivated young people to pursue their dreams and actively contribute to societal development.
