Abuja NIGERIA — The Delta North Survey Group has again lambasted Senator Ned Nwoko for abandoning his die-hard supporters including his political ward and local government coordinator, the zonal campaign team and all those who fought tirelessly to secure his Victory to the National Assembly.

Rising from an emergency Executive Council meeting in Abuja today and presided over by the National President, Professor Michael Okoh, the group condemned in very strong terms the abysmal failure of the federal lawmaker to satisfy the yearnings and political hopes of the people, adding that it was regrettable that the confidence reposed in Senator Nwoko as exemplified by massive votes in the 2023 general election was misplaced because he has failed Anioma people.

In a 5 point communique issued at the end of the meeting which was attended by the National Secretary, Dr Benard Omenogor and the 9 LGA chairmen in the district the group did an unbiased critique of Senator Nwoko’s leadership style .

Most unfortunately, all speakers at the meeting carpeted the lawmaker for his inability to reward loyalty and uplift those who worked tirelessly for his electoral success citing the abandonment of his core and mainstream supporters particularly members of the campaign Council, Local Government Coordinators and his political hench men who did not only sacrifice their time, talent and energy but also invested heavily towards the actualízation
of the senatorial mandate saying that soon after the election the lawmaker stopped picking their calls and turned his back on them.

Delta North Survey Group Rejects Senator Nwoko’s Response as Empty and Irrelevant

One of the speakers particularly lamented thus: “A closer look at these supporters reveals a painful reality: none of them can boast of any advancement or recognition since his election. Instead, their efforts have gone unrewarded and their lives have diminished from where they were before his political victory. This neglect of loyal allies is a betrayal of the fundamental principles of leadership “

The group explained that in addition to the frustration was Senator Nwoko’s decision to entrust key projects to a man simply called Ibrahim who like his name suggests is not from Delta North and that this choice had further alienated the senatorial district with an incest feeling by many that the federal lawmaker is placing high premium on outsiders to the detriment of the interest of the very people including elders, the aged youths, women, boys and girls who defied the whether and all odds to elect him and whose mandate he is supposed to represent”

The communique stated that it was indeed, an ignominious indictment of leadership at the highest level for a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic, tasked with the responsibility of representing Delta North (Ndi Anioma) to be more interested in serving the interest of other states adding that it was even more disheartening to observe the allocation of vital projects to someone outside your constituency describing it as not just the height of insensitivity and betrayal of the collective mandate and trust of the people but a slap on the face of those who believed in his promise to champion their cause.

The group made it abundantly clear that Senator Nwoko had failed the people of Delta North in all its ramifications stating that the chicken would eventually come home to roost just as Daniel shall come to judgement sooner than later.

The group posited that true political leadership entailed empowering the people who sacrificed for the common goal of success which by extension implied that die hard supporters should not only be recognized but uplifted through a well articulated reward system and tangible opportunities adding that Senator Nwoko’s failure to do this was not only a reflection of misplaced priorities but of lack of knowledge and clear understanding of the demands of the office and responsibilities of a siting Senator of the federal republic.

While alluding to the words of John C. Maxwell said that “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” the group submitted that Senator Nwoko must of necessity show the way, not through neglect but through meaningful actions that prioritizes his constituency and honours the sacrifices of those who believed in him .

In the Communique, the group contended that if Senator Nwoko genuinely wants to leave a legacy that would outlive this time and season, he must begin by addressing the general discontentment pervading Delta North at the moment insisting that he must as a matter of urgency leave his comfort zone and and hear what nobody had had courage to tell him admonishing him to dis-countenance the few sycophantic elements around him .

The group also emphasized the need for the Senator to reconnect with the people and listen to their concerns because time is of essence remarking that he must ensure that the people who supported him were not left out because leadership is about inclusion and not exclusion

The group took exemption to the leadership style of the federal lawmaker urging him to exit PDP quietly if he so desired rather than make his planned exit a subject of unnecessary conversation as the people were not interested in such an interface because of the excruciating economic hardship facing Nigerians.

The communique however advised Senator Nwoko to follow the bandwagon effect as exhibited by some of his colleagues in the National Assembly over fears of losing the 2027 elections or focus on the execution of his mandate because whether he quits now or in the future, the people must definitely ask for his performance record as a basis for seeking re-election.
