Community in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Abuja set to honour NEXIM Bank Director, Stella Okotete

Abuja, Nigeria – Hon Stella Okotete will be conferred with the traditional title of Zinariya of Abaji, meaning the Gold of Abaji, Abuja.

According to a statement from the palace of His Royal Highness, His Majesty, Alh. (Dr) Adamu Baba Yunusa, CON, who is the Ona tof Abaji, the conferment will be followed by her coronation and turbaning, all to be celebrated on 26th Nov, 2022.

The ceremony will take place at the Abaji Area Council, FCT, Abuja by 10am.

It further revealed that the title was decided upon by the council of kingmaker, after their annual meeting.

The title it was learnt, is being conferred on her due to humanitarian works she has rendered to Abaji people. She has facilitated series of grants and soft loans for women, and has thus become a major factor in ensuring economic empowerment and financial inclusion for women and girls.

In a statement, the Ona, who is also the chairman, FCT Council of Chiefs, Abuja; Chancellor, Federal University, Wukari – Taraba State encapsulates it in one sentence-

“Your appointment is in recognition of your compassionate endeavour in the improvement of lives of people who encounter you.”

Abaji is a local government area in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, Abuja. The city was the land of the Egbira, Bassa Ganagana, and Hausa people.

Today, Abaji is home to the Federal Government Girls College, as well as the Federal Road Service Corps.

Hon. Stella Erhuvwuoghene Okotete, an APC leader, is currently the Executive Director, Business Development of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).

Previously, she had been appointed a Special Assistance (SA) MDG’s in Delta State. She was keenly involved in volunteer work and has worked with Internally Displaced Persons at IDP Camps in Ughelli, Maiduguri and Abuja.
