DCI Maisudan becomes first Passport Control Officer to receive Africa100 ChangeMaker Medal

Abuja, NIGERIA — Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI) Audimusa Maisudan, (PCO) Passport Control Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Rivers State was among the 42 Africans honoured with prestigious Africa100 ChangeMaker Medal Award and named in the 2023 African Who’sWho compendium.

The Editor of Time Africa, Chidipeters Okorie told the crowd that the award was presented to DCI Maisudan for his actions that are above and beyond the call of duty.

According to him, “the Award is an nitiative to recognize the outstanding achievements of Africans and Africa-Americans. Through civic participation, professional achievement, and responsible citizenship, recipients of this honor must have demonstrated their commitment to their countries and to the common civic values that unite Africa.”

For several years, Time Africa has bestowed Achievement Awards to outstanding individuals or organizations who exhibit a commitment and dedication to African heritage.

Presenting the medal to DC Maisudan he said, “You represents the best of the finest brains in our immigration service. You have demonstrated high sense of responsibility and dedication and selflessness in serving your nation.

“The Medal for Meritorious Service is awarded for your valuable service characterized by your resourcefulness and devotion to duty. This honor makes you sparkle in the names and fames. Congratulations.”

DCI A. Maisudan is an exceptional and outstanding Passport Control Officer who has broken the records of all other passport offices nationwide by producing more than “Seven Thousand Passport Booklets’’ monthly.

An official statement from Time Africa said the Honour recognises the achievements of a “wide range of extraordinary people” across Africa. The Award program hold twice a year.

DCI Maisudan was born in 1966 in Numbu community, Gwantu, in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A B.Sc holder in Political Science from the University of Abuja, Nigeria, he joined the Nigerian Service in 1991, as an Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II. He has since then served in various Commands. He served as Special Assistance (SA) to the Administrative Officer to the President (Alhaji Abdulahi Maikano) between 2015 – 2022. Other places he has served are as follows: Kaduna State Command; Nigerian Immigartion Service Head Quarters, Abuja; Zamfara State Command; Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja; and currently the Rivers State Command as “The Passport Control Officer (PCO)’, Port Harcourt Passport Office
