NIGERIA – Delta Commissioner of Police receives award for making Delta safe

The CP was honoured on the occasion of annual awards of Cinematographers society of Nigeria

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Mohammed Ali, was on Friday honoured by Cinematographers Society of Nigeria at the annual grand award event held in Asaba, Delta State.

CP Ali was recognized for living up to expectations in crime prevention, control and fighting in the state. He was presented with an award as The Best Commissioner of Police for the Year 2022.

The award citation says he was being honoured for his quality leadership and in appreciation of the sacrifice, dedication and professionalism of officers and men of Delta State Police Command.

In a letter sent to the police commissioner to notify him of his being chosen for an award, it was indicated that the nomination “is sequel to your innovative approach, which has inspired public confidence and support for the police in your command, leading to massive crime reduction in Delta State.

The award was presented to the CP by veteran actor, Ugezu Jideofor Ugezu who commended the efforts of the Commissioner, towards the protection of life and properties have made Delta State the safer State in Nigeria.

“This is evident in your continuous achievements in the arrest of criminals and recovery of arms and ammunition from bandits and hoodlums,” he said.

He commended the Commissioner for his personal commitment to leave every posting better that he met it through crime busting, building construction, staff’s welfare, among others.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner, CP Ali who was represented by the Commander of the EagleNet, SP (Dr.) Usman Abdul-Dimka, pointed out that the film makers and actors are one of the key and strategic partners of the police, urging them to always provide the police timely information that could help in unraveling criminal incidents.

He explained that the Commissioner of Police is determined to continue promoting ‘community policing’ by collaborating with the professional, hardworking and devoted police personnel and other stakeholders in fighting crimes to ensure that every community in the State is safe and to sustain Delta State as one of the safest and most stable states in Nigeria.

He urged the members to continue to be at the forefront of expounding partnership values, problem solving approach, to complement the efforts of the police towards quality service delivery.

He appealed to the film makers and the general public to always assist the Police in preventing crimes, so as to ensure a safe environment for the public.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, SP (Dr.) Dimka who was also honoured with an award of merit for his outstanding professional commitment to safety of lives and property in Delta State, thanked the film makers and assured them of the police cooperation in maintaining law and order in Delta State.

He praised the film makers whom he said had been sacrificing their time and energy to make people happy through the content creation and movie production.

He went further to dedicate his own award to the officers and men of this Command whose hard work, zeal, commitment, passion for excellent service delivery made the award and recognition possible.

“I also dedicate this award to the good people of Delta State whose partnership have elevated policing and law enforcement to another platform in Delta State,” he concluded.
