The Delta State Police Command has arrested young boy identified as Ade Segun for conniving with two of his friends to fake kidnap and demanding N2 million from his parents in Warri, Delta State.

The State police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, who disclosed this in a tweet said the names of the suspect’s friends were given as Precious and Nonso.

According to Edafe, Precious and Nonso called Ade’s parents, and demanded the ransom to free their supposedly kidnapped son Segun.

The police spokesperson explained that the parent reported at the police station in Warri, where a woman police played along, pretending to pay the ransom money.

Edafe said, “When the undercover policemen got to the location, they laid ambush and one of them, Precious, came to pick the money. He was rounded up and arrested. He took them to the hideout where Ade and his other friend were arrested and confessed that it was all planned.”
