The substantive chairman of Delta State Branch of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Comrade Bolum Martin Nwachukwu, JP, UN-Peace Ambr., has joined his Nigerian State Chapters and Branches Chairmen across the country to attend a special leadership conference and training is Dubia, United Arab Emirates.

Speaking to TimeAfrica in Dubai, Bolum said the gains of the conference and training were very enormous and worthwhile as according to him, “it was an intellectual exercise and dynamic discussions on management and leadership best practices to help navigate complex challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities around the world”.

He said the training was to maximize team productivity, drive breakthrough innovation for Nigerian Senior Civil Servants so as to gain a competitive edge anywhere in the world.

He explained that leadership as an art requires continues exposures and training and retraining to be able to compete with other contemporaries around the world.

He said the training was to motivate ASCSN towards achieving a common goal. Armed with the gains of the conference and exposure, Comrade Bolum, said the various States’ Units in the Federation will be trained with the new strategy to meet the needs of the current society.

He said, “In today’s civil service arena, challenges can arise at any time, and you need an effective leader to be able to respond to those challenges with intelligence, strategy, and expertise.”

To attain success, he said “ASCSN annually organizes retraining programmes for State’s leaderships to be more agile leaders who can skillfully lead members through change driven performance, and cultivate a people-first culture of engagement and accountability” he concluded.

The Dubai Training is titled, “Consolidating the Gains of Building a 21st Century Trade Union in the Nigerian Public Service”. It featured lectures from international renowned union leaders.

The motives for the conference which is an annual event by the National Secretariat of the ASCSN, Comrade Bolum stated: “constant improvement in the Nigerian workforce’s is central for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth; the trainings shape people’s abilities by developing different types of personal capital.”
