Enugu Commissioner Donates Fleet of Buses and ₦50m to APC

Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Prince Lawrence Ezeh, (Prince of Mburubu) has made a substantial donation of vehicles and funds to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, in what party figures described as one of the most significant gestures of support received in recent months.

Speaking in Enugu yesterday, Dr Ezeh unveiled a Coaster bus and four Toyota HiAce (Hummer buses), all donated to various arms of the party to, in his words, “strengthen the APC’s operational capacity” ahead of future political activities.

Addressing party members during the handover ceremony, the Commissioner said every card-carrying member of a political party ought to demonstrate loyalty and practical support. He also argued that governance responsibilities placed heavy demands on the state administration, saying that Governor Peter Mbah is “fully occupied with economic-driven projects across every political ward.” His remarks were framed as a defence of why, in his view, party members must contribute to internal party organisation rather than rely solely on the government.

According to Dr Ezeh, the donated Coaster bus has been allocated to the women’s wing of the APC in Enugu State. One of the Toyota HiAce buses is designated for the youth wing, while the remaining two are to serve party officials for administrative and mobilisation duties.

In addition to the vehicles, the Commissioner, donated ₦50 million to support the party’s logistics, outreach and organisational needs.

Senior party figures in Enugu hailed the gesture as a timely lift for the party’s organisational machinery. According to party sources, the vehicles will be put to use at once for field mobilisation, community outreach and coordination across the wards.

Observers noted that the donation echoes similar gestures made at the national level. It will be recalled that President Bola Tinubu recently inaugurated the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, during which vehicles were also distributed to support party’s mobilisation and grassroots outreach across the country.

Dr Ezeh, who has frequently portrayed himself as a bridge between technocratic governance and grassroots politics, said the latest intervention underscored his “unwavering commitment” to the APC’s future in Enugu.

Party members responded with extended applause, with local leaders describing the donation as “a morale boost” ahead of upcoming political activities.
