Enugu Commissioner for Technology Hails Governor Mbah’s Leadership at Two-Year Mark

Enugu, NIGERIA — The Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, has lauded Governor Peter Mbah for what he described as “transformational leadership” in the first two years of his administration.

In a goodwill message released on Wednesday to mark the governor’s second anniversary in office, Dr. Ezeh praised Mbah’s “visionary governance,” particularly in advancing innovation and technological development across the state.

Addressing the governor directly in the statement, the commissioner commended the administration’s commitment to fostering creativity and sustainable development through targeted investment in science and technology.

“On this momentous occasion of your second anniversary in office, I extend heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology,” Ezeh wrote. “Your leadership has not only spurred progress but has also kindled a fervour for innovation throughout Enugu State.

According to Ezeh, the impact of the governor’s policies has been both visible and far-reaching, with significant momentum built around initiatives that aim to position Enugu as a hub for scientific advancement.

“In just 24 months, we have observed transformative changes that reflect your dedication to establishing Enugu as a beacon of scientific advancement and technological innovation,” the statement continued.

Ezeh credited the governor with laying the groundwork for a knowledge-driven economy, citing the administration’s support for infrastructure, digital innovation, and research-based governance as a critical factor in what he described as a “promising future” for residents of the state.

Referencing the classical philosopher Aristotle, Ezeh noted: “The true test of a leader is not how well he or she leads in times of ease and comfort, but how they rise to the challenge in times of adversity.”

He added: “Your exemplary actions over the past two years embody this principle, revealing a leader who inspires greatness in others and nurtures an environment ripe for innovation.”

The commissioner, appointed by Mbah in 2023, expressed his anticipation of continued guidance from the governor, aimed at positioning Enugu as a national leader in innovation and digital development.”

The second anniversary of Governor Mbah’s tenure comes amid broader conversations about governance, accountability, and economic revitalisation across the country.. Since taking office in May 2023, Mbah has prioritised industrialisation, public sector reform, Innovation Science and Technology and investment in human capital as part of his administration’s disruptive development strategy.

Ezeh concluded his statement with words of optimism and solidarity: “Congratulations once again, and may your tenure be marked by further positive transformations.”
