Kamala Harris faced her final devastating humiliation on Monday as she was forced to watch Donald Trump being inaugurated as President of the United States

Harris looked grim-faced and forlorn as she arrived at the ceremony on Capitol Hill, failing to raise a smile as she walked in with President Joe Biden.

She kept her thoughts to herself but to onlookers it appeared she was quietly fuming as her time as Vice President came to a brutal end.

Biden and Harris were taking part in a long-held tradition of the outgoing American president attending the inauguration of the incoming president as a sign of unity and respect for the democratic process.

Harris, wearing a black pantsuit with exposed zippers, sat stoically throughout the ceremony holding an inaugural program in her lap.

She appeared to smile sadly as Trump was introduced and looked at the floor, adjusting her hair as he prepared to deliver the oath of office.

Then, she applauded lightly after Trump completed his oath, the one she had hoped to take herself.

Harris, who was endorsed by Biden to take over as the Democratic presidential nominee in late June, campaigned against Trump for 106 days but fell well short in the election.

As Trump delivered his triumphant inaugural speech Harris was sitting just feet away.

Trump called the 2024 election the ‘greatest and most consequential election in the history of our country,’ reminding everyone present that he beat Harris in all seven swing states.

Reinforcing the extent of her defeat, Trump added that he won the popular vote by ‘millions.’

Harris crossed her wrists and held her program, pinching in her fingers as Trump delivered his address.

Both Biden and Harris sat solemnly as Trump issued a series of promises to undo many of their efforts during their first and only term in office.

Her husband Doug Emhoff was unable to maintain his composure as Trump promised to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

He grimaced and shook his head slightly in reaction as Trump outlined the return to ‘manifest destiny’ for the United States of America.

Harris, who was also Biden’s border czar, sat motionless as Trump promised to secure the border and enforce immigration laws to fix the crisis that the previous administration failed to address.

She smiled briefly as the music failed prior to singer Carrie Underwood’s performance of God Bless America.

Harris then sang along quietly at one point during the song, even as critics on social media accused her of not knowing all of the words.

She and Emhoff later left the Capitol building as the former vice president and second gentleman, briefly shaking hands with Trump and hugging the Bidens farewell.

Harris left Capitol Hill on Monday afternoon with plans to return to her home in California.

It remains unclear what she will do next.
