Klopp rejects Liverpool ‘traitor’ after he ‘dared to contact’ club over transfer; Firmino to Real Madrid?

Jurgen Klopp has told Barcelona winger Raphinha that he no longer wants him at Liverpool after he rejected the Reds in the summer, according to reports.

The Merseysiders were one of multiple teams to take an interest in the Brazilian over the summer but Raphinha had his heart set on a move from Leeds United to Barcelona.

But it hasn’t quite gone to plan for Raphinha under Xavi at the Camp Nou with the 26-year-old only starting 12 of their 21 La Liga matches as he battles for a starting berth.

Liverpool signed Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window after improving their attack with Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez in the summer market.

And the Reds are likely to concentrate on improving their midfield in the summer with fans and pundits putting a lot of blame on that area of the team with Liverpool currently eighth in the Premier League.

Klopp’s side did end a four-game winless run on Monday night when they beat Everton 2-0 in the Merseyside derby but Liverpool are still nine points adrift of fourth-placed Newcastle United, who they play on Saturday.

It is doubtful that the Reds will spend a lot of money on their attack in the next transfer window and Spanish publication Nacional insists Klopp ‘does not forgive’ Liverpool ‘traitor’ Raphinha.

Raphinha is apparently ‘unhappy’ with his playing time at Barcelona and the report adds that the Brazil international ‘will be a substitute again’ once Ousmane Dembele returns from injury.

Barcelona are ‘considering’ his transfer this summer with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal likely to be interested and Nacional claims that Raphinha’s representatives have ‘dared to contact Liverpool’ over a move.

Liverpool considered Raphinha as an option after Sadio Mane moved to Bayern Munich and now Klopp ‘no longer wants to know anything about Raphinha’.

Klopp’s ‘doors are closed, and they don’t forgive him for not having a little more patience’ before agreeing a move to Barca in the summer.

Roberto Firmino was one of the shining lights of Liverpool’s campaign before he was struck down by injury earlier in the season with the Brazilian still the third-highest goalscorer at the club this term.

But, with his contract up at the end of the season, there is plenty of uncertainty surrounding his future at the club and Nacional insists the Brazilian is ‘tempted’ by a potential move to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid ‘is thinking of him today in order to reinforce’ their attack and the Liverpooll forward would be keen despite his potential ‘role of substitute
