Abuja, NIGERIA — Gruesomely murdered – unsubstantiated reports suggesting that the kidnapped former Nigeria Representatives Member in Delta State, Joan Onyemaechi “Mrakpor”, has been killed by her abductors, go viral.

Gunmen, reportedly kidnapped the former member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the Federal House Of Representatives, former Delta State lawmaker and a ex-Commissioner, Joan Onyemaechi after killing her two police escorts in Asaba metropolis on Wednesday.

Reports circulating that the Mrakpor was murdered and her remains dumped around the Onitsha end of the Niger Bridge, still hazy and unconfirmed.

“A source with knowledge of the development who asked not to be identified said her remains were found with heavy bruises, suggesting she was brutalised and tortured before her death. She was found dead and fully stripped with severe wounds around 7.30 pm Thursday. I think she was battered to death,” the THEWILL reported.

The dossier provides no back-up evidence, but the claims were hard to ignore. The news is gaining traction across the country.

But a family source said, “I don’t even think this is fake news, I think this is just fake, blackmail, wicked and unwarranted. It’s an absolute spoof story. It’s absolute fabrication. It’s complete nonsense.”

While the news remained unconfirmed, Time Africa has reached out to the Nigeria Police, Delta State Command.
