National Convention of Nnewi Union in USA concludes weeklong engaging activities

The 2024 NUSA Convention commenced last week Thursday 4th July 2024 as guests arrived at the Marriott Atlanta Airport Gateway, the venue of the Convention, from around the world.

Gracing the occasion amongst many others was the Guest Speaker at the Convention, Chief Ben Etiaba FCA, a renowned Chartered Accountant of international repute who arrived at the venue on Thursday from Nigeria.

Similarly, Prince Obianefo Orizu PhD, Nnewi’s Crown Prince, also arrived at the Convention venue from Nigeria as well as Dr. Okey Chidolue a retired Director at Nigerian Ports Authority and the founding President of NUSA who equally arrived from Nigeria, Dr. Chinedu Aranotu, among many other attendees from Nigeria including the Special Guest of honour Senator Ifeanyi Ubah CON, who lit up the Gala Night with his immense fund raising skills.

Guests from all parts of the United States graced the Convention, packed with exciting programs to educate, elevate, entertain, and deliberate on ways to move Nnewi forward.

Participants, including the NUSA President Dr. Julian Anagbogu, NUSA General Secretary Dr. Chioma Okonkwo, Atlanta Chapter President Dr Odyke Nzewi, Atlanta Vice President Dr. Chinyere Izuchukwu, Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee Sir Chinelo Ejimbe, Chairman of the Convention Local Organising Committee Mr. Azuka Onyemelukwe, Masters of Ceremonies Prof. Chris Ulasi & Attorney Onyi Ekwegbalu, Dr. George Amanambu, Dr. Chima Nwizu, Elder John Oraefo, ‘Nigeria World’s’ Mr. Alfred Uzokwe, Mrs. Chiugo Ajene, Justice Nnabuenyi Momah, and NUSA immediate Past President Dr. Ike Ofomata amongst many others.

While the cultural night on Friday, was followed by the 2024 Chief Chike Momah Memorial Academic Excellence Award, granted to about 34 recipients. The awardees were sons and daughters of Nnewi who have distinguished themselves academically in the United States.

On Saturday, Chief Ben Etiaba also Chaired the Convention’s Gala Night that held at the Grand Ballroom of the same Atlanta Gateway Marriott Hotel and this effectively signalled the conclusion of the 2024 NUSA Convention, as guests departed on Sunday 7th July to their various locations.
