Nkanu land in Enugu State stood still in honour of the Enugu State Commissioner for Science, Innovation and Technology, Engr Prince Lawrence Ezeh (Prince of Mburubu Kingdom) as he buried his mother, Her Royal Majesty Queen Josephine Nwakaego Ezeh in grand style on Friday, amidst glamour and fanfare.

The royal family, friends, admirers, Mburubu Communities and the entire Nkanu land bid farewell to the Queen, properly acknowledging the overwhelming love she had for her people — honoring her by sharing memories largely focused on her strength and her unfailing dedication to humanity.

It was a moment to reflect on the good deeds of Mama Prince of Mburubu while she was alive but generally, it was a time to celebrate the life of the Queen who was described as the queen of peace and love.

“Today as we bid farewell to her, let us celebrate the extraordinary woman she was…a woman who embraced life’s adventures, nurtured our spirits, and showered us with so much love. Her memory will forever life in my heart, reminding me to approach life with a sense of curiosity, resilient, and an unwavering devotion to God and our loved ones,” the Prince of Mburubu said.

Prince Ezeh, who began his eulogy with a brief touch of his mother’s casket, ended it with tears welling behind his glasses, for a mother full of spunk, class and tenacity

The Queen’s casket was led out by bagpipers, royal undertakers and mourners. As the casket was lowered into the grave, a sudden mist rolled up the Royal Palace. She was laid to rest besides her husband’s grave.

The queen’s official journey to the great beyond started Thursday with a Christian Wake-Keep and Nigh of Tribute that had angelic voices lifting souls and emotional tributes from dignitaries.

The carnival kind of burial ceremony attracted crème de la crème across the country. The deceased in her life time was said to have helped in raising children both her biological and extended family members who are today very successful in their chosen careers. No, wonder the burial may not have the memory easily erased in the minds of the community as its attractions of goodwill which was incomparable in the history of event hosting will linger on for many years to come.

The State Governor Peter Mbah delegation, Deputy Governor Ifeanyi Ossai, Enugu House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Uche Ugwu, Capt Evarest Nnaji (Odengene) to mention a few were all present at the mind blowing burial event.

HRM Josephine Ezeh was born in 1945 into the family of Isaac Okparanta in Omuakwa family of Ogbodo village in Isiopko, Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers state, Nigeria. She married His Majesty Igwe Emmanuel Mounyleu Ogbuzulu Ezeh, Ozurumba 1 of Mburubu Kingdom.
