A month after announcing his appointment as Super Eagles chief Coach, Emmanuel Amunike is yet to pen an official contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
Speaking on Brila FM’s show ‘No Holds Barred’ with Ifeanyi Udeze on Monday, Amunike revealed the parties are still discussing the terms of the deal and “will hopefully” reach an agreement soon.
“On my contract situation with the NFF, we are discussing about it and I hope very soon we will tidy it all up,” said Amunike.
In his response on Nigeria’s 32-man list for the World Cup qualifiers against Ghana, Amunike declined commenting on the merit of the list.
He did however state that Nigeria’s qualification for the World Cup is more important and focus should remain on getting the team to excel against the Black Stars.
“About the squad list, there are certain things that are not meant for Public consumption, the most important thing is to focus our attention towards our preparation.
“We should move on from there the most important thing is to qualify and we are all channeling our thought sin that direction.
