NYCN honours Delta State Chairman of ASCSN

Abuja, Nigeria – The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, has honored the Delta State Branch Chairman of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Comrade Bolum Martin Nwachukwu for his distinctive contributions to the field of labour which has enhanced the quality of life of millions of workers.

Bolum was honour with Garkuwan Matasan Najeriya (Shield of Nigerian Youth) for his commitment to social justice and his lifelong dedication to bettering the lives of Nigerian youth.

Presenting the award on behalf of Northern Youth at the Musa Ya.Adua Convention Centre, Abuja, Mr. Tanko Ayuba said, “Comrade Bolum Martin Nwachukwu is one of the heroic figures of our time. He is a civil right activist and labor leader; a religious and spiritual figure; a community servant and social entrepreneur; and a crusader for nonviolent social change.

Responding, Comrade Nwachukwu said, “there are so many leaders who are well deserving of this award,” adding, “In this honor, I feel that it is my responsibility to live up to what it means to be the kind of leader who brings people together from all aspects and all levels of the labour movement and help make sure Nigeria workers have the fair, decent and safe working conditions they deserve.”

According to him, “the Award means everything. I am incredibly honoured to be receiving an award after one of Nigerian icons, Sir Ahmadu Tafawa Balewa. It’s almost surreal. This only inspires me to accomplish so much more. . I’m ecstatic to tread along the journey set out before me and see how far I can truly create, impact and instill change.

Comrade is also the Chairman of the South South zone of the Association of Senior Civil servants of Nigeria, Delta State Branch Chairman of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Chairman Trade Union Congress (TUC) Delta State Council and Chairman South South zone of the TUC.
