London – Ogbako Ndigbo UK (ONIUK) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the 13th President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, following his successful victory on January 10, 2025.

In a statement signed by Dr. Jude Eze (President ONIUK), Dr. Daisy Nwaozuzu (Vice President ONIUK), and Barrister Kenneth Udeoka (Secretary General ONIUK), Ogbako Ndigbo UK hailed Senator Azuta-Mbata’s election as a significant milestone for the Igbo nation. The statement lauded the new President General’s leadership qualities, including his transformative vision, deep-rooted ties to Igbo socio-cultural values, and his proven ability to inspire confidence in those around him.

Senator Azuta-Mbata’s election is seen as a testament to the trust and belief that Igbos worldwide have in his leadership. His vision for a united, prosperous, and empowered Igbo community resonates deeply with the values upheld by Ohanaeze Ndigbo. In his inaugural speech, the newly elected President General made a compelling pledge to work tirelessly for the advancement of the Igbo nation, emphasizing the importance of unity, economic empowerment, and political inclusion.

“We believe that Senator Azuta-Mbata’s election marks a moment of great pride and hope for Ndi-Igbo,” said Dr. Eze. “His commitment to preserving Igbo culture, fostering unity, and driving forward the economic and political interests of the Igbo people is something we wholeheartedly support.”
