HOUSTON, Texas — Ogilisi Igbo, the esteemed founder of the multi-billion-dollar Rojenny Tourists/Game Village located in Oba, Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, recently embarked on a cruise to Mexico from Houston, Texas. The trip not only marks a significant personal journey for Ogilisi Igbo but also serves as a platform to promote Nigerian tourism, urging citizens to take full advantage of local attractions.

Rojenny Games Village, widely regarded as one of Africa’s largest privately owned recreational facilities, features a FIFA-standard stadium with a capacity of 40,000, alongside a plethora of sports facilities such as an Olympic-size swimming pool and multiple courts for lawn tennis, handball, and volleyball. The village is not only a sports haven but also boasts various attractions, including a zoo, giant wheels, worship centers, a museum gallery, and a clubhouse, making it a hub for both leisure and cultural experiences.

Speaking about his cruise while aboard the luxury liner, Ogilisi Igbo expressed his vision for Nigerian tourism, stating, “It is essential for Nigerians to embrace their heritage and explore the vast opportunities that our local tourist villages offer. By doing so, we can reconnect with nature and enjoy recreational activities similar to what others experience around the world.”

Ogilisi Igbo remarks come at a time when the Nigerian tourism sector is looking for ways to bounce back from the setbacks caused by lack of government interest. The sector has faced numerous challenges, yet stakeholders are optimistic about its potential for growth. Ogilisi Igbo believes that facilities like Rojenny Games Village could play a crucial role in revitalizing the industry, attracting both local and international tourists.

“When people visit places like Rojenny, they are not just engaging in leisure activities; they are also immersing themselves in the rich culture and beauty that Nigeria has to offer,” he added. “Our facilities are world-class, and we should not sell ourselves short.”

The cruise to Mexico offers Ogilisi Igbo a unique opportunity to observe international tourism standards and practices. He hopes to implement some of these ideas within his own operations back in Nigeria. “I am keen to look at how other countries market their tourist attractions and learn from their successes,” Ogilisi Igbo stated. “It is vital for us to create an environment where tourists feel safe and excited about exploring what Nigeria has to offer.”

As a visionary in the tourism industry, Ogilisi Igbo has been a beacon for many aspiring entrepreneurs within the space. His commitment to excellence has not only contributed to boosting the economy but has also promoted cultural exchange and appreciation. His continuous efforts to enhance Nigeria’s tourism potential exemplify the need for innovation and collaboration in the sector.

As his cruise continues, Ogilisi Igbo remains optimistic about Nigeria’s future as a tourist destination. With valuable insights garnered from his experiences abroad, he is eager to see the expansion of facilities like Rojenny Games Village and inspire others to take part in the growth of Nigeria’s tourism sector.

His cruise to Mexico represents not just a personal voyage but also a significant step towards promoting Nigerian tourism and showcasing the nation’s potential to the world. As he embarks on this exciting journey, he eyes the future with hope, advocating for a revitalized focus on local attractions and adventure.
