Parents admit raping their 15-year-old daughter for more than a year because it was ‘safer than her having sex with strangers’

Parents in Utah have admitted to raping their 15-year-old daughter for more than a year because they thought it was ‘safer’ for her than ‘having sex with strangers,’ according to court documents.

The unidentified couple were taken into custody on Thursday in Provo, Utah, about 40 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, after police responded to a call from the alleged victim who said her step-father had been raping her ‘for the last year and a half,’ the affidavit states.

The teenage girl’s biological mother and step-father, both in their 30s, allegedly approached her ‘with the idea of having sexual experiences together,’ according to police.

The mother and step-father, who told police that he’s known the teenager ‘since the day she was born,’ have been charged with forcible sodomy, forcible sexual abuse and object rape, according to online jail records reviewed by People.

The teenage girl, her mother and her step-father have not been named in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim.

he step-father has been charged with an additional count of rape and both adults are being held without bail, according to jail records.

The step-father said that ‘a year ago he and the victim’s mother learned that the victim was wanting to meet and have sex with strangers’ online, the affidavit said.

Court documents revealed that the teen’s mother and step-father said that they also found photos of the girl ‘in sexual situations’ in online chats.

He said that he and his wife decided ‘that teaching the victim about sex, and engaging in sexual acts with the victim would be safer for her than having sex with strangers,’ the affidavit, reviewed by KSL said.

The step-father allegedly told investigators that he and the girl’s mother purchased sex toys for the 15-year-old and took showers with her, arrest documents said.

He also admitted that he and his wife ‘showed [the victim] how to use’ the sex toys on herself and on them, documents said.

The mother allegedly said that she previously confronted her husband about ‘having full intercourse’ with her daughter after the teen expressed concern to her about a broken condom, according to arrest documents.

When she approached her husband about it, he ‘denied it at the time,’ the affidavit said.

She reportedly told police that she also engaged in sexual acts with her husband and her daughter, according to the affidavit.

Authorities said that the couple is being held due to the ‘substantial risk’ they pose. It is unclear if the couple entered a plea deal or hired an attorney to defend them.

The couple have four other children together but it is unclear if they were also sexually abused by the parents.
