Prince of Mburubu Showers Community with Millions in Grants and Gifts

Enugu State, NIGERIA – In a breathtaking act of generosity that has left tongues wagging and hearts brimming with joy, the Prince of Mburubu Kingdom and Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, has once again stunned his hometown with an avalanche of wealth and goodwill.

Over the Easter weekend, hundreds of residents in Mburubu community, nestled in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, were recipients of non-refundable cash grants ranging from ₦200,000 to ₦500,000, courtesy of the benevolent Prince.

In what observers have described as “a rain of naira blessings,” the grassroots initiative—anchored on direct community impact—has drawn nationwide admiration and raised the bar for community development philanthropy.

The financial empowerment, which saw the disbursement of a total of ₦45 million, marks one of the most substantial private interventions in recent times in Enugu State.

In an unprecedented show of love for his people, Dr. Ezeh also gifted ₦1 million each to the seven villages that make up Mburubu as an Easter celebration package, totaling ₦7 million in village support alone. He also supported the community youth with ₦3 million.

“This is no ordinary Easter in Mburubu,” exclaimed the President General of Mburubu Town Union, High Chief (Hon) Emma Edeh, adding, “The Prince has turned our town into a beacon of hope. This is what true leadership looks like.”

While many Nigerians are grappling with economic hardship and rising inflation, the people of Mburubu are celebrating what they have now dubbed “Easter of Elevation.” Beneficiaries described the grants as life-changing, with several pledging to invest in agriculture, trade, and small-scale enterprises.

Speaking exclusively to Time Africa, Dr. Ezeh downplayed the fanfare surrounding the giveaways, insisting, “This is just my own little way of supporting my people. I come from this land. I know what we need, and I will always do my part. Everything I give is from my personal pocket.”

Indeed, this is not the first time the Prince has rolled out the red carpet for his community. Just last Christmas, he empowered 11 youths with shuttle buses, handed out hundreds of bags of rice, and distributed millions of naira to families to cushion the effect of the festive season.

The Commissioner also reiterated his unwavering support for Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, whose administration he credited with inspiring people-oriented policies and developmental vision across the state.

“The Governor’s blueprint aligns with my personal mission to lift Mburubu and Enugu State at large. He is building a future where no one is left behind,” Dr. Ezeh declared.

Analysts are already speculating on what this could mean politically for Dr. Ezeh, with some suggesting that his consistent generosity may be positioning him for higher political office. But for the people of Mburubu, politics is far from their minds — they are simply revelling in the outpouring of goodwill from their beloved prince.

As dusk fell on the community this Easter, there was music, dancing, and celebration in every corner — not just for the season, but for a rare breed of leader whose heart beats in rhythm with his people.
