Abuja, Nigeria – Professor Akpofure Rim-Rukeh FNES, FCSN, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Delta State – Nigeria, has sent a warm and thoughtful special message to the university’s students, faculty, and staff. His message, filled with gratitude and appreciation, reflects on the achievements of the university and looks forward to a bright future in the coming year.
In his message, Professor Rim-Rukeh expressed deep pride in the strides made by the university over the past year. He noted that FUPRE had not only excelled in academic pursuits but also expanded its role in driving innovation in the petroleum and energy sectors, key pillars of the nation’s economy.
“As we approach the end of the year and prepare to celebrate the festive season, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of pride and gratitude to each one of you—the hardworking staff, brilliant faculty, and dynamic students of FUPRE. We have achieved much together this year, making significant progress in our academic programs, securing accreditations for various courses, and introducing new programs that are closely aligned with the needs of the energy industry,” the Vice Chancellor said.
Professor Rim-Rukeh highlighted that FUPRE’s research in petroleum and energy continues to set new benchmarks, with the university contributing meaningfully to the development of Nigeria’s energy sector and beyond. He also celebrated the expansion of campus infrastructure, the establishment of cutting-edge research centers, and the excellent performance of FUPRE students, who have earned accolades across various disciplines. The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the vital role played by industry partners in supporting the university’s growth.
In his message, Professor Rim-Rukeh took time to express heartfelt gratitude to the faculty and staff for their dedication and resilience in creating an environment conducive to learning and research, despite the challenges of the past year. “As the Yuletide and New Year holidays approach, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude as I speak to you—the esteemed members of staff, as well as the vibrant and dedicated students of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, Delta State.
“Over the past year, we have made remarkable progress in academic excellence, securing accreditations for our courses and introducing new programs that align with industry needs. “As we celebrate, I would also like to take a moment to commend the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advancing education in Nigeria. His reforms, including investments in infrastructure and initiatives like NELFUND and the Student Loan Scheme, are breaking barriers and making education more accessible, paving the way for future generations to contribute to the nation’s growth.
