Abuja, Nigeria – The Abia State governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof Gregory Ibe, has offered his congratulations to the former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan on the occasion of his 64th birthday and highlighted his heart of decency, love of country, principled leadership, vision and contribution to a better Nigeria.

In the congratulatory letter made available to TimeAfrica in Abuja, Nigeria, Prof Ibe congratulated Dr Jonathan for the rare achievement of becoming a deputy governor, governor, vice president and president of a big nation nation like Nigeria even as a quinquagenarian, and praised God for keeping him healthy and strong in his sexagenarian era.

According to Prof Ibe,” I join all men of goodwill in congratulating you for the rare feat of emerging deputy governor, governor, vice president and president in a big nation like Nigeria when you were still in your forties and fifties. It is worth giving thanks to God that in your sixties you are not only healthy and strong but have stepped into global relevance as an international leader of repute”.

Continuing, Prof Ibe recalled with nostalgia some landmark engagements of the former president in Abia including his recent visit to Gregory University Uturu in 2021 to commission some legacy projects.

In his words,” As you celebrate this landmark attainment, I am compelled to recall with nostalgia your dogged commitment and support to development, in and out of office, which you exhibited by your recent visit to our university in 2021 to commission some legacy projects. During that visit we were delighted to observe that you have remained as youthful as when you first assumed office as Nigeria’s president in your early fifties”.

Concluding Prof Ibe prayed God to continue to renew the years of the former president while sustaining his global relevance in the comity of nations.
