Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen scored twice on Sunday as Galatasaray played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in a pulsating Turkish Super Lig encounter.
Osimhen, who led the visitors’ attack, opened the scoring in the 12th minute after winning and converting a penalty following a VAR review. The striker confidently sent goalkeeper Andreas Gianniotis the wrong way to give Galatasaray an early advantage.
Kasimpasa, however, found their equaliser in the 52nd minute when Mortadha Ben Ouanes expertly headed in Kamil Piatkowski’s cross.
The hosts then turned the game around in the 61st minute as Josip Brekalo’s long-range strike took a wicked deflection, wrong-footing Fernando Muslera to make it 2-1.
Galatasaray responded swiftly, with Mario Lemina producing a stunning header from a free kick in the 69th minute to restore parity.
Just two minutes later, Osimhen struck again with a brilliant solo run, breezing past defenders before slotting the ball past Gianniotis to hand his side a 3-2 lead.
The drama intensified in the closing stages when Kasimpasa were awarded a controversial penalty after a VAR review. Haris Hajradinovic stepped up in the 85th minute to fire home, ensuring the hosts salvaged a point.
Osimhen thought he had sealed a hat-trick late on, but his effort was ruled out for offside in the 88th minute, denying Galatasaray a hard-fought victory.
