Abuja, Nigeria – As part of his personal pet project to improve the lots of his home country, a serving Nigeria Police officer, SP (Dr) Usman Ahmed Abdul-Dimka, has distributed various food items and other materials to more than 500 children at orphanages homes in Delta State, South South- Nigeria, where he also adopted additional 12 orphans.

Dimka announced the adoption when he visited some orphanages homes to deliver food and clothes to mark his 51 birthday on October 1, 2022. He has previously adopted orphans from various States of Nigeria irrespective of ethnicity and religion of which some are now university graduates fairing well.

In a country where corruption is perceived a norms, police of such are a rare find.

SP Dimka not only serves as an example police in Africa, but also as an advocate for strong hold on values and love for children and less-privileged people who need assistance.

“I am paid to make lives better, and to give back or to help people is amazing morale,” Dimka said.

He has built his life and work around the belief that a loving home, with loving parents, could be transformative. And yet over and over again he witnessed the limits of that philosophy. But devastating as the case of some oprhans could be, SP Dimka is often felt compelled to step in. He fell in love with every kid orphans who turned up on his doorstep, and he can’t bear the thought of pushing them back. Instead he stretches his salary a little further, adopt them for life and cater for their health, education and wellbeing.

“I wish that I can do more to make them know that they are creative and infinitely valuable. I want to adopt more children as far as God grants me long healthy life and the resources to take care of them,” said Dimka.

He appeal to all well meaning and wealthy Nigerians to always assist the orphans and the less privileged in dere need.

SP Dimka has always want to adopt, and with his wife, he found a willing partner. The couple have adopted 31 kids across the country who had been through secondary and University education. In the midst of this flurry of adoptions, SP Dimka has 7 biological children.

Each year he visits orphanages and deliver his birthday cakes to spread joy to the children.

“It is one of the happiest days of my life. For the past 8 years, I celebrate my birthday with children from orphanages, homeless, abandoned widows,” said SP Dimka.

“When I visited some of the ophanages, you can see the joy, the smiles on their faces.

“I think just spending a couple of hours with them, laughing, joking and playing helps them understand that we care. If they grow up in a world where people care about them, it could change their view of the world in a positive way.

“I am very thankful for the giving-heart of my wife,” he said.

“Visiting the orphanage helps strengthen civil-police partner relations and extend a helping hand to the citizens,” he added.

This year, his 51st birthday, he visited orphanage homes to play and spend time with children in need. In course of his visits to several other home, one of the orphans at Mother of Devine Grace, Asaba complained they had no electricity, immediately the Supretendent bought and delivere 10Kva generator, clothing and food.
