UNIDEL Matriculates 3,318 Students for 2022/2023 academic session

The University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, has matriculated no fewer than 3,318 newly admitted students for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

The Second Matriculation Ceremony, which took place on Thursday, 27th April, 2023, was held at the University’s playground where invited guests, including parents attended the event.

In her address at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella C. Chiemeke said the event marks the official enrollment of the matriculating students into the university academic program as approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

According to her, “This is a significant day in your life as it marks the beginning of a new phase in your academic journey. This is a journey that requires dedication, commitment, hard work, and discipline, and today we officially welcome you to this community of scholars.

“I implore you to take your studies seriously, stay focused, and strive for excellence. The University has put in place a conducive envelope for learning, and it is now your responsibility to take advantage of the opportunities provided by this great University. UNIDEL is one of the best universities in Nigeria.”

She warned the students to strictly abide by the University’s rules and regulations and be of good character, as well as dress decently.

“While we encourage healthy and robust debates and diverse ideas, we have a zero- tolerance policy towards cult activities, examination malpractices, and indecent dressing. Any student found engaging in such unpleasant activities will face disciplinary action strictly,” she said.

She said while UNIDEL would continue to provide quality education in order to produce quality graduates who would contribute their quota towards the development of African continent and the world at large, “I want you to remember that you are now ambassadors of this great University.”

She congratulated the students for securing admission into the university and urged them to embrace self-discipline and face their studies seriously.

The Vice President who, led the proceedings during the matriculation, administered the matriculation Oath to the students.
