Abuja, NIGERIA — The University of Port Harcourt on Wednesday announced the release of long pending degree results of students.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Georgwill Owunari said a total of 380 outstanding results of 2012/2013, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 that have gone through the Degree Verification Committee of the University (DRVC) and duly vetted by the Senate Business Committee(SBC) of the Senate of the University of Port Harcourt have been approved.

He advised affected students to check for their results, even as he wished all the students whose degree results have been approved good luck with their future endeavor.

The VC said that steps had already been initiated for clearing any other backlog.

It would be recall that following the decisions of the Senate at its 471st Meeting held on Wednesday, 29th March 2023, the University approved outstanding Degree Results for the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021 Academic Sessions.

Prof Owunari disclosed that the welfare of students must be given top priority in the affairs of his administration. He enjoined members of the Senate to key into the vision of the present administration.

The current development is in consistence with his exceptional leadership and roadmap to set University of Port Harcourt higher than ever, apparently, keen not to lose momentum and so focused on rapid development of the University which he promised on his assumption of office.

Within the brief period since his inception, whether in the realm of academics, research and development, Prof Owunari has established UNIPORT as a frontrunner in the pursuit of excellence.

There is greater confidence that with his unprecedented achievements UNIPORT will scale greater heights of excellence nationally and internationally in the days to come, to become the preferred global academic hub.
