The 23rd of June 2022 is a day to remember as Coscharis Motors, the sole distributor of Land Rover SUVs in Nigeria launched the all-new Range Rover to the Nigerian market and journalists were given the opportunity to have a feel of the luxury SUV. All were marveled at its sheer presence and finesse and I have to say it looks even more amazing in real life.

The launched SUV is a manifestation of refined luxury and unparalleled capabilities that remain true to its roots with intimidating stance and poise that makes it an instant King of the Road. It features a unique interpretation of personalization, handcrafted by the Special Vehicle Operations that give anyone who experiences the SUV a harmonious experience of modernity, technology and comfort to the highest level of satisfaction.

The front fascia is confident with deeper grille graphics and jewel-like digital LED headlights that provides a beam range of up to 500 meters coupled with signature daytime ru

nning lights that exhibits exceptional design details. The side has a flush design with stealth deployable door handles, which feature new Approach Unlock and Walkaway Locking with Proximity Sensing, so the doors unlock and the handles deploy automatically when a key fob is detected approaching the vehicle. When leaving the vehicle, customers can simply walk away and, once the key fob has left its immediate vicinity, the handles retract and the vehicle locks. The rear is completely revamped and the tailgate opening mechanism is both automatically and manually operated with the lower section serving as a makeshift bench.

During the unveiling, the GM, Marketing & Corporate Communications, Coscharis Group  – Mr A

biona Babarinde gave the introductory speech on the latest entrant to the Land Rover family indicating its craftsmanship and heritage. In his remarks, he said “We are delighted to bring you a closer look at what awaits our customers, especially the final owners of the New Range Rover: breathtaking modernity, peerless refinement and unmatched Land Rover capability. Building on 50 years of innovation, The New Range Rover leads by example”.

Moving on to the interior, passengers will be treated by a large screen that serves as a multifunctional setup that does the navigation, driving modes and entertainment (Pivi Pro infotainment system). All the seats are made of premium leather and I found them very comfortable. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless car charging are standard to make life easier. Amazon’s Alexa is also present with a mission to seamlessly convert your thoughts into reality from media shuffle to navigation and news on events closest to you.

Off-roading is a bliss with the 2022 Range Rover as it seamlessly moves through the rough terrains it was subjected to at the test track, this is made possible by the SUV’s 3 differentials (front back and middle) and its air suspension that keeps things balanced. Its handling is superb and the acceleration is sharp coupled with strong braking.

Under the hood is a 523-hp, 533-lb-ft twin-turbo 4.4-litre V-8 that will propel the Range Rover to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds (this is a fast SUV and seeing it move is a wonder to behold). The engine is quiet as it’s well insulated with noise-cancelling features. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard with the rear wheel steering option available in the displayed vehicle.

The Range Rover is now available for pre-oder at Coscharis Motors.
